Description:
Content: Gentiles are wild olives. Non Jew Christians are like the wild olive branches and so akin to the olive roots. The city, olive trees and Gethsemane become my focus of expression. I have actually fallen in love with the land and everything in it.
Background: A traditional reason for grafting olive trees is the belief that the wild olive (or oleaster) is able to resist drought because of its taproot. Original roots are replaced by an entirely new system of roots which arise from the knobs which appear at the base of the trunk. These knobs (also called ovuli) are cut off and root easily to form new trees; leafy cuttings are also used.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the land.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. 'May they prosper who love you...'"
