Description:
Content: Tour in the Garden of Gethsemane. How do you relate church and the olive trees? Christians are like the wild olive branches and are akin to their roots. The city, olive trees and Gethsemane become the focus of expressing the indwelling love of the land and everything in it. Background: In Romans 9 – 11, Paul describes God's relationship between Israel and the Jewish people, and the Church. Olive tree represents the covenants and promises to Israel, growing from its holy Root, which is the Messiah, the Word of God. The natural branches are the people of Israel and whosoever turned away from God were broken off. Christians are simply the wild branches grafted in among the natural branches to "become a partaker with them of the root and fatness of the olive tree," according to Romans 11:17. Therefore, honouring the roots is important.
